Seronera Visitor Information Centre

The Seronera Visitor Information Centre is your source of travel information about Seronera located in the world famous Serengeti National Park. A small tourist village built on a Koppie that is located in the small town of Seronera, of Serengeti National Park. It comprises a reception area, video room, curio shops, a cafe with outdoor sitting area, administration offices and several illustrations with information about the park. One of the illustrations is an elevated walkway, built around a cluster of rocks and trees that details the wildebeest migration. Each point on the walkway represents a different point in the migration, with placards carrying information about that specific point.

What to do there?

Get information about the Serengeti National Park and the wildebeest migration, including maps on sale for TSHS 20,000 (2017), lectures, watch videos or interact with other tourists. There also are souvenirs on sale, you can easily buy one and take with you back home, as they are truly African make, which will always give you a great memory of your safari time in Serengeti.

Best time to visit?

Any time of the year, with the early months being perfect for viewing the wildebeest migration. You may need a good 4 x 4 if intending to visit the plains during the rainy season of March to July.

Location of Seronera Visitor Information Centre

The visitor’s center is located about half a kilometer north of the Seronera Airstrip, and about the same distance south of the village. It is also at the heart of the Serengeti, a park world-renowned for its vast plains and the wildebeest migration.

How to get there?

By vehicle or flight, with the latter using the Seronera Airstrip then hired transport to the area. Alternatively, it takes about a 2-hour drive from both Ndabaka and Naabi hill gates to get there, using a passenger bus, private, rental or tours, and travel vehicle.
