Most People usually ask how to get to Udzungwa Mountains National Park, but with the park’s location in Mang’ula the village which is in close proximity to the train routes from Dar es Salaam to Zambia, and the easy accessibility due to the connecting highway roads, there is no need for worrying on getting to the park as the park can be accessed by different ways using the road, air, and train.

Udzungwa Mountains National Park is about 360km almost due west of Dar es Salaam Tanzania, and by road  transport which is the easiest and moderate way to access the park, due to its forested nature with no landing site inside the park, it not far after Mikumi National Park and you can drive 4 – 5 hours on Morogoro road, heading to Mikumi town and later through Kilombero crossing the mighty River Ruaha to Sanje Village.

Another way on getting there is driving through the new route to Selous Game Reserve from Dar es Salaam and on to Udzungwa National Park and this also connects to Mikumi National Park and back to Dar es Salaam.

For high-end adventurers who use Air transport, there are daily charter flights connecting to Udzungwa at Kilombero Airstrip from Dar es Salaam, and Zanzibar that runs every afternoon and they as well link Udzungwa National Park to the rest of the safari destinations in the southern circuit of Tanzania. Also another an alternative for Air, you can fly to Mikumi National Park Airstrip using Air Link through its daily scheduled flights and then get an overland drive down to the valley of the park.

There is yet again another option on getting to the park which is by using the Train that has its routes from Dar es Salaam to Zambia through Mang’ula village where the park is located but not much advisable as the train sometimes delays because of its long route which requires a lot of flexibility. Arrange your transportation with Enclose Africa Safaris if you’re using the road to avoid disappointments and delays for your safari.
