How to get to Arusha National Park
How to get to Arusha National Park is quite the easiest in Tanzania as is located in the north of Arusha town, amidst Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro. This park is the ‘odd one out’ in Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. It doesn’t offer the usual range of wildlife that the other parks do. Of the Big Five, the only buffalo are regularly seen, and lion and rhino are absent. Its appeal lies in the scenic beauty and unusual animals. The charismatic black-and-white colobus monkey is the flagship species. The park has a lot to offer to the visitor, that you can undertake quite a number of activities ranging from game drives, walking safaris, hiking, canoe ride, and bird watching.
This beautiful Arusha National Park has often been called a “little germ” and rightly so. It is only ½ an hour by tarmac road from Arusha town, the safari center of Northern Tanzania. With mountains, valleys, lakes, and small plains clothed in green, it has a wonderful feeling of peace and solitude. It is dominated by Mount Meru, which at 4,566 m (14,980 ft) is the 5th highest free-standing mountain in Africa.
This second-highest mountain in Tanzania offers an unforgettable experience and serves as acclimatization refuge before climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.
