Getting to Mount Meru

Mount Meru is located inside Arusha National Park. Most visitors fly into Kilimanjaro International Airport, which is 60 kilometers/35 miles away.  Most the main gateway for all destinations in the country within the northern circuit. Majority of airlines that come to Tanzania has flights to Kilimanjaro International Airport, including KLM, Brussels Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways, precision air, Qatar Airways, Rwandair, Turkish Airlines and Tanzanian’s national pride, its flagship carrier Air Tanzania. Majority of clients land in Nairobi or in Kigali and they connect with the direct flights within the region which are Kenya airways, Precision Air, Air Tanzania, and Rwandair. Tanzania also can be connected with domestic flights namely Air excel, Auric Air, coastal aviation, Regional air, and ZanAir.

You can reach Arusha by domestic flight or long-distance bus from several locations in Tanzania and Kenya.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • You need a valid passport. The passport must be valid for six months after entry into the country. You need one blank page on your passport for entry stamps.
