Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: KIGALI AIRPORT TRANSFER
Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, you will go through custom and immigration, and you will be met by our company guide/ representative who will warmly welcome you to the Land of a thousand hills that Rwanda is know of, and later drive to your booked hotel accommodation for dinner and overnight stay at Hotel des Mille Collins (Mid – range) Or Quiet Haven hotel (Standard hotel). Meal Plan: Dinner.
Day 2: TRANSFER TO VOLCANOES NP
Today you will be picked at your lodge after completing your morning breakfast and head for a city tour to visit the local market and Kigali genocide memorial ground, and have lunch before being transferred to Musanze near Volcanoes National Park where you will your dinner and overnight stay. Dinner and overnight at Da Vinci Gorilla lodge (Mid-range lodge) Or La Palme hotel (Standard). Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.
Day 3: GORILLA TREKKING & CULTURAL VISIT
Early morning cup of coffee, then prepare for the gorilla trekking briefing from the park headquarters and thereafter, you will be briefed before you enter the jungle with your packed lunch to search the shy mountain gorillas and enjoy their life style in their real home. After meeting the gorillas, you can sit around these great apes for a whole hour watching their social life as you take pictures. On a gorilla trekking safari, a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as walking shoes, packed food and mineral water, insect repellent, sun screen and hut. The gorilla tracking experience takes half or whole day depending on the movements of these primates. After this gorilla tracking experience you will return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will head for lunch, later head for cultural experience at Iby’ Iwacu, to get cultural insight of the Rwandans. Dinner and overnight at Da Vinci Gorilla lodge (Mid-range lodge) Or La Palme hotel (Standard). Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.
Day 4: GOLDEN MONKEY TREKKING & TRANSFER TO KIGALI FOR FLIGHT TO KENYA
Today after your early morning breakfast, at 7.30 am, you will be transferred to the park’s headquarters with your packed lunch in Office of Tourism in Kinigi where you are briefed by the ranger about the rules and regulations governing golden monkey tracking before you head off to the jungle in search for these shy lovely primates. The golden monkey trek can last from an hour to six hours just like gorilla trekking, however not much hectic as the gorilla trekking, though the trek is strenuous but much rewarding at the end. You will be given an hour with the golden monkey to take as many pictures of your choice and later return from your trek, head for lunch in one of the local restaurants, before hitting on the road to find our way back to Kigali for your evening flight to Kenya. Your Rwanda Eco Company safari representative meets you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport upon arrival on an evening flight. Transfer to your Nairobi city hotel for check in. Dinner on own account. Overnight stay at the hotel at Park Inn by Radisson (Mid – range) or Ibis Styles Nairobi (Standard hotel). Meal Plan: Bed and Breakfast basis.
Day 5: NAIROBI / MASAI NATIONAL PARK
Breakfast at your hotel. Introduction to your safari driver, pre safari briefing and departure for.
Masai Mara National Reserve. Check in followed by lunch. You then enjoy your first game drive in Masai Mara from 1530 hrs to 1800 hrs. Dinner and overnight stay at Base Camp Masai Mara (Mid – range) Or Enkorok Mara Camp (Standard hotel) Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.
Day 6 and Day 7: MASAI MARA
You will spend two full days exploring and discovering the vast Mara reserve, enjoying game drives as you search for the resident Big Cats, antelopes and bird species. Be on the look out for Lions, Cheetahs, Buffalos, Zebras, Spotted Hyenas, Masai Girrafes, Elands, Gazelles, Hippos, Leopard, Black Rhinos and several other animals and birds that reside here. The Mara, one of the most famous wildlife reserves in Africa is home to the Big Five as well as other predators, scavengers, plains game and prolific birdlife. This is also the place where the wildlife spectacle referred to as the annual wildebeest migration takes place every year between July and October when over 1.2 Million Wildebeest and Zebras cross over from Serengeti in search of greener pastures. Dinner and overnight stay at Base Camp Masai Mara (Mid – range) Or Enkorok Mara Camp (Standard hotel). Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.
Day 8: MASAI MARA – NAIROBI AND FLIGHT TO ZANZIBAR
Breakfast will be served. Check out of camp. Time allowing and depending on the location of your camp, you enjoy an enroute game drive as you begin your drive back to Nairobi. On arrival, optional lunch may be served at the Carnivore Restaurant if time permits. You will then be transferred to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where you board your afternoon flight to Zanzibar. Arrive at Zanzibar International airport, meet and greet with the guide/driver at the Airport, then transfers to beach hotel of your choice for dinner and overnight at Ocean Paradise (Mid – range) or Kichanga Lodge (Standard hotel). Meal Plan: Breakfast & Lunch.
Day 9: DAY EXCURSION IN ZANZIBAR, STONE TOWN & SPICE TOUR
Have morning breakfast, you will head for a day excursion to explore the vibrant hot spot of Zanzibar with a tour of the Stone Town, and learn about its rich history and cultural heritage and Spice tour, which is the second income earner of Zanzibar, with a drive through a profusion of greenery in the countryside seeing, smelling and tasting a variety of spices and mouth-watering tropical seasonal fruits such as jack fruit, pineapple, banana, green coconut juice, dourian, love apple, litche, soursop ( depending on the season ) etc. Spices such as cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, black pepper, turmeric, vanilla, and nutmeg – are as exotic as the flavour. This is also the very best and cheapest place to buy locally made perfumes and oils. Our guided walking tour passes through villages and spice plantations, a walk through the farms as spice farms workers climbs trees, seek out specific plants and cuts off various barks, letting you see, feel and taste everything. Later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Ocean Paradise (Mid – range) or Kichanga Lodge (Standard hotel). Meal Plan: Breakfast & Lunch.
Day 10: SEA EXCURSION
Morning after breakfast 08;00 depart from Hotel of your choice for Safari Blue. Safari Blue is like but more than a day out activity. This excursion ideally permits the clients to see the natural environment of specifically Menai Bay, the Mangroves, Baobab tree, and sand banks. The clients enjoy the tranquility of cruising by sail in one of Safari Blue’s traditional hand built wooden dhows. A peaceful way to end your memorable day, you will be served with lunch and soft drinks. Tour ends in the evening. Then transfer to the Hotel of your choice at Ocean Paradise (Mid – range) or Kichanga Lodge (Standard hotel). Meal Plan: Breakfast & Lunch.
Day 11: FREE DAY – SELF TREAT
It’s your free day, to enjoy yourself to the fullest, you can opt to stay at beach, or arrange private snorkeling adventure or just relax at the hotel. Day 12: TRANSFER TO ZANZIBAR AIRPORT FOR YOUR FLY OUT
