Day by Day
Upon arrival at Nairobi – Jomo Kenyatta Airport, you will go through customs and immigration, and you will be met by our company guide who will warmly welcome you. Drive to Nairobi town and drop you at your hotel for overnight and briefing yu on your 8 Days Kenyans Secret Treasures Safari.
Breakfast, pick up at 0700hrs and depart to Ol Pejeta conservancy, a privately-owned 90,000-acre wildlife conservancy. The conservancy sits on the equator, high on a plateau, between the foothills of the Aberdare’s range and Mount Kenya. Ol Pejeta is home to the last two remaining northern white rhinos, and a sanctuary for over 165 critically endangered black rhinos. It hosts a wide variety of animals, including the ‘Big five’, plus many bird species. On a clear day, and normally in the morning, you may have panoramic views of Mt Kenya and her snow-capped peaks
Spend a full day in an exclusive private conservancy where wildlife gathers at a floodlit waterhole, offering exceptional views of elephants, giraffes, zebras, and impalas from the comfort of camp. Visit the 200 acre chimpanzee sanctuary, established in partnership with Kenya Wildlife Service and the Jane Goodall Institute, dedicated to rehabilitating orphaned and rescued chimpanzees in a secure, natural setting. A powerful highlight is meeting the last two northern white rhinos, Najin and Fatu, a rare conservation experience. Breakfast at the hotel, drive to lake Nakuru National Park to arrive with a game drive enroute for lunch, followed by afternoon game viewing drive circumventing Lake Nakuru. The lake is situated in the heart of the Rift Valley and is one Kenya’s most famous soda lakes. A major feature of this park is the bird life, and it is world renowned as the home for millions of Flamingos. A rhino sanctuary also provides the opportunity to see the greatly endangered black rhino. Dinner and overnight at the lodge / Camp.
After breakfast depart for Kenya’s famous game reserve. You start the day venturing through the Great Rift Valley travelling to the northernmost extension of the Serengeti Plains and one of the richest wildlife Game Reserves, the Masai Mara. The Mara is home to the awesome, black-manned lion, the elusive leopard, stately giraffes, vast herds of elephants, rhino, thundering herds of zebra, migrating wildebeest and numerous other plains game. You arrive at the lodge/camp for lunch. After lunch depart for an afternoon game-viewing drive. Enjoy dinner and overnight at the camp.
A full day’s safari in one of the world’s most famous reserves, offering an abundance of herbivores, the Mara makes the ideal hunting ground for Kenya’s famous ‘Big cats’ and hosts her largest population of lions. Historically teeming with wildlife, the Mara is famous for the large herds of elephant and buffalo that wander its plains, and for the annual migration of the wildebeest. Take the opportunity to fly over the Mara in a Hot Air Balloon provided at extra cost. The balloon package includes a champagne breakfast in the wild! If you can spare the money, viewing an abundant game afloat a balloon is an unforgettable experience. Alternatively visit a Masai village and learn the Masai culture at an extra cost.
Enjoy breakfast then check-out. Unbelievable but true, our good bush moments have come to an end. We bid farewell to our wonderful camp manager and his team then depart back to Nairobi. Not empty handed though. With us are photographs – a capture of the special moments we have had on this tour to immortalise the experience. You will arrive in Kenya’s bustling capital city Nairobi in the afternoon. Lunch at Karen Blixen restaurant and be transferred to the airport for your flight back home depending on your flight timings.
