About the Lodge
Governors’ Camp, Masai Mara, is nestled along the forested area of the Mara River. It is Africa’s only permanent luxury Camp that has maintained its original look since 1972. It possesses the best view of the river, offering travelers amazing, unforgettable experiences while in the African wilderness. Within the Mara, the lodge may be the best among wildlife sites. The camp is designed in Canva to perfectly fit the environment. It has been built, all rooms are en-suite, overlooking the plains, with a private deck and main Lodge area adjacent to the Mara River
Location
The luxury Camp is located in the heart of the Masai Mara National Park, winding along the banks of the Mara River. By road from Nairobi, it takes approximately 6 hours to drive through the angelic countryside, while by flight, it takes about 45 minutes from Wilson International Airport.
Rooms
Governors Camp consists of 24 tents, 18 angelic safari tents, and 6 family tents originally designed for families who would like to stay together on safari. Each of the tents is purely made out of canvas, overlooking the Mara River and surrounding Savannah plains, characterized by an en-suite bathroom running both warm and cold water, a flush toilet, toiletries, and a private veranda shower.
