12 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trek with Tanzania Bush Safaris

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport and after completing the immigration and luggage collection process, you will be warmly welcomed by our professional safari driver guide. He will provide you with a short briefing about your upcoming safari and the program ahead before transferring you to your booked accommodation in Kigali. Upon arrival at the hotel, you will check in and have time to relax after your journey. Dinner will be served at the hotel, followed by an overnight stay as you prepare for the start of your safari adventure the next day.

Today you will be picked up from your lodge by our professional driver guide and proceed for a Kigali city tour. During the tour, you will visit a local market to experience daily life and local culture, followed by a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre to learn about Rwanda’s history and reconciliation journey. After the city tour, you will depart Kigali and drive to Musanze near Volcanoes National Park. Upon arrival at your lodge, you will check in, relax, enjoy dinner, and stay overnight.

Early in the morning, you will enjoy a cup of coffee before heading to the park headquarters for the gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing, you will enter the forest with your packed lunch to begin the search for the mountain gorillas and observe them in their natural habitat. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend one hour watching their behavior and taking photographs. The trek may take half or a full day depending on their movement. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch, followed by an afternoon cultural visit and dinner at the booked lodge

After an early morning breakfast, you will be picked up by our safari driver guide and transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing, with your packed lunch. You will then begin your golden monkey trekking experience in the forest, searching for these playful and shy primates in their natural habitat. The trek is generally less strenuous than gorilla trekking but still very enjoyable. After the trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch, then transfer back to Kigali. Time permitting, you may visit Kimironko local market before hotel drop off for dinner and overnight stay.

After your relaxed breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and be transferred to the airport to catch your flight to Tanzania for your wildlife safari experience. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport on the evening flight, you will be warmly welcomed by your Tanzania safari driver guide. He will transfer you to your hotel in Arusha for check in and relaxation after your journey. Dinner will be on your own account at the hotel or a nearby restaurant. You will spend the night at the hotel as you prepare for your safari starting the next day.

The tour begins with an early departure from Arusha at 7:00 a.m., followed by a transfer to Tarangire National Park with packed lunch boxes for the day. Tarangire is well known for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and diverse wildlife including lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and various antelope species. You will enjoy an extended game drive through the park, exploring different habitats and wildlife areas. In the late afternoon, you will exit the park and proceed to your lodge for check in, dinner, relaxation, and overnight stay.

Today you will transfer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend about 2,000 feet (over 600 meters) to the crater floor for a half day crater tour. The crater is home to a wide variety of wildlife including elephants, buffaloes, lions, zebras, wildebeests, and many bird species. You will explore the forest areas, the lake where flamingos are often seen, and the open savannah plains. After lunch, you will drive to Central Serengeti with a game drive en route. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge.

After breakfast, you will depart for a full day game drive across the endless plains of the Serengeti, travelling from Central Serengeti towards the Northern Serengeti. This area is famous for the Great Migration, where large herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles move across the plains in search of fresh grass, often followed by predators such as lions and cheetahs. You will enjoy wildlife viewing throughout the day with a picnic or lodge lunch. In the late afternoon, return to the lodge for relaxation, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.

After breakfast, you will enjoy a full day game drive in the Northern Serengeti, an area famous for the Great Migration river crossings. With some luck, you may witness large herds of wildebeest crossing the river, along with zebras and gazelles moving across the plains while predators such as lions and crocodiles wait nearby. You will enjoy extensive wildlife viewing throughout the day with lunch at the lodge or picnic lunch. After an evening game drive, you will return to the lodge for relaxation, followed by dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will depart for a game drive en route via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards Lake Manyara National Park with packed lunch boxes for the journey. Along the way, you will enjoy scenic views of the highlands, local villages, and wildlife sightings where possible. You will arrive in the Lake Manyara area in the late afternoon, where you will proceed to your lodge for check in and relaxation. In the evening, you will enjoy dinner at the lodge, followed by an overnight stay as you prepare for the next day’s activities.

After breakfast, you will depart for a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, a beautiful park known for its tree climbing lions, large troops of baboons, elephants, giraffes, and diverse birdlife. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, you will visit Mto wa Mbu village for cultural activities such as a local village walk, banana beer tasting, visiting local farms, a traditional Tanzanian lunch, and meeting local artisans. Later, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Today marks the last day of your 12 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trek and Tanzania Bush Safari. You will have free time at the hotel for relaxation and leisure depending on your departure flight schedule. Later, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight. En route, you will have a stopover in Arusha town for lunch at a selected restaurant before continuing to the airport. After lunch, you will proceed with your transfer to the airport, where you will check in for your international departure flight, marking the end of your safari.
