Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: TRANSFER TO THE HOTEL.
Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, depending on your flight time and undergoing immigration procedures, you will be met by our safari driver guide who will warmly welcome you into the land of a thousand hills, brief you shortly and later transfer you to your booked accommodation for an overnight stay. Accommodation: Chez Lando Hotel. Meal Plan: Dinner
Day 2: KIGALI CITY TOUR.
Today after taking your relaxed early morning breakfast, you will be picked by our safari driver guide from your lodge and head for Kigali city tour, visit the convectional center and later proceed to visit the local market, interact with the local people and see how they carry out their daily merchandise and later head for lunch in one of the local restaurant. After lunch, you will visit the Kigali genocide memorial grounds, which honors the memory of more than one million Rwandans killed in 1994 through education and peace-building. You will be able to watch and listen to some video clips from some of the survivors’ of the incident and later drive back to your hotel for dinner and evening stay. Accommodation: Chez Lando Hotel. Day 3: TRANSFER TO AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK. TRAVEL TIME +2HRS
After your relaxed breakfast at the lodge, you will be picked by our safari driver guide, who will transfer you the Akagera national park for big game viewing safari. Akagera national park, is the only Rwanda Savannah Park which is known for the big five game viewing in Eastern Rwanda on the border with Tanzania, it will give you a chance to spot number of wildlife and bird species. You will check in for lunch at your accommodation and later in the afternoon head for a sun set boat trip on lake Ihema, where you will have great opportunity to spot a number of hippos, crocodiles, elephants and buffaloes, wallowing along the water bank, and number of bird species such as the pelican, pied king fisher’s, darters and later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Accommodation: Akagera Game Lodge. Meal Plan: Full board.
Day 4: FULL DAY SAFARI GAME DRIVE.
Today after taking your early morning breakfast, we shall head out of the lodge with our paced lunch, for a full day game drive before sunset, so as take the nice shot of the sunrise and also catch up with the early risers; you will go for another game drive in the park searching for wildlife. The drive through the park will reward you with animals like lions, elephants, buffaloes and many more. You will later return in the evening to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Day 5: TRANSFER TO NYUNGWE. TRAVEL TIME + 6HRS
Early morning enjoy your buffer breakfast and checkout of the hotel and drive heading to the western province, on your way visit the Royal Palace Museum and Ethnographic Museum in Southern Province, this will give you a great history of traditional ways of living among Rwandans and their past way of leadership of Kingship with an enroute lunch. You will reach in the afternoon at Nyungwe national park and spend the afternoon at your leisure. Accommodation options: Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel. Meal Plan: Breakfast, lunch & Dinner.
Day 6: CHIMPANZEE TRACKING & CANOPY
Today, after your early morning cap of African coffee, you will leave your hotel to experience the natural forest of Nyungwe well known for having 13 species of primates, and transferred to the park for briefing and chimpanzee trekking. You will be entitled to one hour on finding the chimpanzees. After doing the chimpanzee trek, head for lunch before heading for a canopy walk. This 90 meters suspended metallic bridge will give you a great overview of Nyungwe forest and on a luck day spot one or two more primates in the forest as you take a walk on this bridge and later return in the afternoon for dinner and overnight stay. Day 7: TRANSFER BACK TO KIGALI.
Begin your day with a warm delightful breakfast, and later transfer to Lake Kivu for an afternoon sun set boat trip. You will have a roughly 2 hours exploring the beauty of this wonderful lava lake and later return drive back to Kigali to catchup with your evening flight.
