Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: ARRIVAL AT INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT OF KILIMANJARO (JRO)
Airport pick up and transfer to Lake Duluti Lodge in Arusha for leisure and relaxation at your own pace. Bottled water, Bed and Breakfast Included.
At the airport of Kilimanjaro (JRO), you will be warmly greeted and welcomed by your experienced professional driver-guide, after confirming the presence of your entire belongings, will offer you some bottles of mineral water or cold drinks followed by a direct private transfer to your Lodge in Arusha for Leisure, Dinner, and Overnight.
Day 2: ARUSHA TO LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK FOR GAME DRIVES.
At 830hrs, embark to Lake Manyara national park for game drives and game viewings
Overnight at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge. Lunch, Dinner, bed, and Breakfast included
Lake Manyara national park is a small beautiful wildlife sanctuary nestling at the base of the African Great Rift Valley. The park covers an area of 325 km 2 whereby its large portion of its land is dominated by an alkaline lake which serve as; a feeding ground for large flocks of flamingos and many aquatic birds. The park is multihabitat, ranging from acacia woodlands, rocky escarpments, and grassy floodplains, both providing beautiful sceneries, and atmosphere. The park is a corridor for the great migration of large herds of mammals. And the narrow belt of acacia woodland is the favorite playground of Manyara`s fabulous tree-climbing lions. On your game drives, you shall also see groups of Elephants and giraffes feeding on Acacia’s twigs, Hippopotamus enjoying bathe in their pools or troops of baboons grooming and harassing each other, Zebras, in conjunction with wildebeests grazing on short grasses accompanied by egrets and hornbills that benefit from aggressive disturbed insects. Blue monkeys, buffaloes, and many other antelopes roam in this sanctuary too. Lake Manyara also supports a wide array of birdlife species such as barbets, ibis, heron, spoonbill, weavers, and many other numberings to 400 species. You shall have your lunch at the picnic point inside the park, And later after authentic wildlife game drives and game viewings, you will be transferred to your Lodge for Dinner and Overnight.
Day 3: CULTURAL TOUR IN MTO WA MBU VILLAGE IN MANYARA.
Walking through the village It`s an opportunity that gets you closer to African culture. Today you will spend a day in a vibrant village of Mto wa mbu exploring, discovering, learning and experiencing the African people`s culture and their surprising traditions. Overnight at Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge. Breakfast, Lunch and dinner included.
Mto wa Mbu is a small, busy agricultural village surrounded by magnificent scenery and great diversity of interesting cultural activities that can add great memorable experiences to your safari in the northern circuit. The village borders the beautiful Lake Manyara National park and it is also a gateway to the famous Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti National Park. Rice and Banana including distinctive red banana are mainly grown crops in this vibrant village. Walking through the village It`s an opportunity that gets you closer to African culture. The tour involves visiting local people in their really homes, learning of their culture and experiencing different activities that make their living for example making and testing local beer made from Banana, Testing of local food at one of the villager’s home, Experiencing the Makonde woodcarving and secret to the tribe painting techniques and many other insights including the unique interesting Maasai Market that take place every week on Thursday afternoon.
Day 4: MANYARA TO NGORONGORO CRATER FOR GAME DRIVES.
Rise in the morning for a healthy breakfast, and then depart to Ngorongoro crater for authentic game drives and game viewings. Lunch shall be served to you at the picnic site in the crater. Overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included.
Below the Ngorongoro crater floor, there are lives of amazing wild creatures dramatically carpeting the land in different colors and styles, making the area the most marvelous place on earth to indulge for spectacular game drives and game viewings in search of incredible big cats and the remained endangered black rhinoceros. This 2000 ft. deep intact volcanic caldera was formed after an extensive volcanic eruption. It’s also comprised of two smaller Craters of Olmoti and Empakai perfect destinations for pure nature hiking and walking safaris. Wildebeests, Buffaloes, Hyenas, Waterbucks, Jackals, Elephants, Lions, Zebras, Leopards, Hippos, Baboons, Mongoose and monkeys, Elands and many other wildlife species alongside hundreds of bird species e.g. Ostriches, Starlings, Bustards, Eagles etc. live here and can be spotted during game drives. You will have your lunches at the picnic site inside the crater floor before proceeding with game drives. Later after exploration hours, you will ascend the crater walls and drive to your Lodge for Dinner and Overnight.
Day 5: TRANSFER NGORONGORO TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK.
After breakfast, leave the lodge with your packed lunches for a drive to Serengeti national park. You can opt to stop at the Oldvai gorge museum for a historical tour at a surcharge. Overnight at Four Season Safari lodge. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included.
Good times are still in progress, today after rewarding breakfast at your lodge, your driver will pack your luggage and your lunchboxes in your vehicle ready for a drive to Serengeti national park across the famous Ngorongoro conservation area with several stops at some interesting spots. Animals like Lions, elephants, hyenas, jackals, elephants, zebras, wildebeests, Gazelles, impala and buffaloes can also be spotted in Ngorongoro conservation area. On your way, you can opt to stop at the Olduvai Gorge where anthropologists Louis and Mary Leakey made many significant discoveries, contributing to the theory that human life originated in Africa. After stopping for your picnic lunch on a kopje (rock outcropping) in Serengeti you will continue with game drives en route to your Lodge for Dinner and Overnight.
Days 6 – 8: FULL DAY GAME DRIVES SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
These days will be perfectly organized at your own pace, in each day, you can decide to embark for an early morning game drives and return to the lodge for late breakfast before embarking with packed lunch boxes for a full game drive. Or you can decide embarking for game drive after breakfast then return for hot lunch and finish with evening game drives. Discuss with your guide for better option that suits your interests. Serengeti national park encompasses some of the Africa`s most dramatic scenery and is one of the greatest of the world`s wildlife sanctuaries spreading over 14673sq km. The park obtained its name from a Maasai word Siringiti that means an extended wide plain area. This endless wilderness with spectacular panoramic views provides habitats and coverage for vast array of mammals, birds and reptiles compared to any other parks and game reserves in Africa. Apart from its jaw-dropping endless rolling plains of savannah and woodlands, Serengeti is popular for it`s great wildebeests migration circle and the best destination for big cats safaris.
It is not so uncommon to spot big herds of elephants and groups of Giraffes browsing on acacia trees or pride of Lions setting ambush on buffalo or hyenas feeding on abandoned zebra`s carcass. Your game drives may also reveal animals like; Topi, Cheetahs, Crocodiles, Hippopotamus and Leopards, grant gazelles, Warthogs, Jackals, Impalas and many other small to large-sized animals. Days 9 – 13: SERENGETI TO ZANZIBAR ISLAND
Early morning game drives to see nocturnal animals coming back from their hunt and animals waking up. Later drive to Seronera airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar for four nights beach holiday stay. Overnight at Zuri Hotel. Breakfast and Dinner Included.
Upon arrival at Zanzibar International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative who will transfer you directly to your hotel for relaxing, Dinner and Overnight.
The island is famous for its mix of exotic beaches, famous spice plantations, history. Known as the Spice Island, the beautiful island of Zanzibar is a magical island in Indian Ocean bursting with incredible culture and history, seemingly at odds with its idyllic geography of white-sand beaches with palms swaying lazily in the sea breeze. Day 14: AIRPORT DROP OFF FOR YOUR FLIGHT BACK HOME.
Today at leisure depending on your flight schedule you will be transferred to the airport.
