Arusha National Park
A Hidden Gem in Northern Tanzania
Welcome to Arusha National Park, a hidden jewel nestled in the northern part of Tanzania, covering 552 sq km (212 sq miles). Despite its small size, the park boasts diverse landscapes across three distinct areas. In the west, the Meru Crater channels the Jekukumia River, with the peak of Mount Meru gracing its rim. Moving southeast, the Ngurdoto Crater unveils vast grasslands, while the northeast is adorned with the shallow alkaline Momella Lakes, known for their vibrant algal colors and wading birds.
Mount Meru and Spectacular Landscapes
Rising as the second-highest peak in Tanzania, Mount Meru offers breathtaking views, with Mount Kilimanjaro just 60 km away to the east. Arusha National Park holds a strategic position on a 300-kilometer axis connecting Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater in the west to Kilimanjaro National Park in the east.

Often overlooked by safari enthusiasts, Arusha National Park is conveniently close to Arusha town, the safari capital of northern Tanzania. Despite its compact size, the park offers a diverse range of habitats, making it a perfect destination for day trips before embarking on longer safaris.
