Day 1: TRANSFER TO MOUNT LONGONOT FROM NAIROBI. 2.3HRS
You will be picked from your hotel after your early morning breakfast at 6.00 am and drive towards the park which is roughly an hour and a half drive, you’ll pass through the Kikuyu highlands and stop for views of the eastern escarpment of the Great Rift Valley as you proceed to kick off with your hiking adventure in the cool hours of the morning before it gets hot. In a short time, you will be at the park where the hiking adventure kicks off. The hike is inside a National Park, but no guide is required, your driver-guide may accompany you along. The hike rewards you with ascending and descending experience with a walking safari, all the way around the crater rim. It is a difficult steep Hike to the top that needs one to be moderately fit, this day hiking is of moderate difficulty with steep climbing but achievable. The terrain has fine dust, with loose gravel in some areas of the hike. You should bring with you comfortable hiking shoes, light clothing, and drinking water.
Approximately 3kms.Two and a half hours or three. Nevertheless, the reward for reaching the top is well worth it. Beautiful and scenic site of the crater. The views are fantastic. Once you reach the rim you really have to go all the way around the crater, the views from the very top are amazing. As you heave yourself over the rim of the crater your reward is the awesome sight of Naivasha and the Great Rift Valley and you know that it was all worthwhile. For the fitter hikers, another 3-hour hike around the rim can be done. (7kms), to Kilele Ngamia. A number of wildlife and bird species can be spotted along the hike, such as the Giraffe, Zebras, buffaloes, Gazelles, and view of Naivasha and the Great Rift Valley and you know that it was all worthwhile. You will need to carry some snacks to energize you along the way. Mineral water will be served to you.
The whole tour is only about 8–9 km long but very steep, so that the round trip of park gate – Longonot Peak – park gate takes around 5 hours hiking. Hikers need to be reasonably fit to take part in this hike
After your return from the hiking, visit the park headquarters before heading to Lake Naivasha, where you catch up with lunch at the lakeside at your lodge. Afternoon at your leisure.

Day 2: BOAT RIDE AT LAKE NAIVASHA AND TRANSFER TO NAIROBI
After your relaxed morning breakfast at your lodge, you will be picked by your guide, who will transfer you to Lake Naivasha the second largest freshwater lake in Kenya which is approximately 100 Kilometers, for a boat ride where hundreds of bird species thrive alongside a population of hippos. Lake Naivasha National Park is a bird lover’s paradise and taking a boat ride can get you real close (as close as 5 meters) to these avian wonders — pigeons, flamingoes, crows, and even fish eagles. While on the boat ride, enjoy bird watching, eagle feeding, and witness dozens of hippos wallowing in water and the different species of birds on Crescent Island. This island was one of the settings for 1985 the movie “Out Of Africa” starring Meryl Streep. While here you can do a walking safari with a guide, see animals like zebra wildebeest.
