A 2-day Nyungwe Forest Safari takes you to Rwanda’s largest forest for an exciting adventure. You will hike through the Igishigishigi trail, go for a canopy walk, and track chimpanzees. Nyungwe National Park, located in the southwestern corner of Rwanda, was established in 2004. It is one of the oldest and largest afro-montane forests in Africa, covering an area of 970 square kilometers. The park features diverse ecosystems, including bogs, swamps, grasslands, and bamboo forests, and is situated at an altitude of 3000 meters above sea level. Day 1: TRANSFER TO NYUNGWE NATIONAL PARK FOR CANOPY. DRIVING TIME IS 6 HOURS
Meet your guide after breakfast at the lodge and transfer back to Nyungwe. On the way, you will visit the King’s Palace Museum, where you will have a wonderful opportunity to learn about Rwandan culture. Enjoy an en route lunch before reaching the national park and your hotel in the afternoon. In the evening, you can experience the canopy walk, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: CHIMPANZEE TREKKING – DRIVE BACK TO KIGALI
Today, after your early morning cup of African coffee, you will leave your hotel to trek chimpanzee in the natural beauty of Nyungwe Forest, renowned for its 13 species of primates. You will be transferred to the park for a briefing and then embark on a chimpanzee trekking adventure. Once you locate the chimpanzees, you will spend one hour observing them. After the chimpanzee trek, you will have lunch before heading back to Kigali for your evening flight.
