Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: ARRIVAL IN TANZANIA

You will be picked up at Kilimanjaro Airport and transferred to Moshi town situated at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Today you will meet your guide who will brief you about your upcoming tour and together you will do the bike fitting around Moshi town. Dinner, and overnight at hotel.

Day 2: MOSHI TO MARANGU

Embark on an exhilarating biking tour from Moshi to Marangu, traversing the picturesque landscapes of Tanzania. The journey begins amidst the vibrant streets of Moshi, with majestic views of Mount Kilimanjaro in the backdrop. As you pedal along the winding paths, you’ll pass through lush banana plantations, quaint villages, and dense forests. Feel the refreshing breeze and soak in the sights of local life unfolding around you. As the route ascends, the air grows cooler, and soon you’ll arrive in Marangu, nestled at the foothills of Kilimanjaro. Explore the town’s charming atmosphere, perhaps visiting the iconic Kilimanjaro National Park gates nearby. This biking adventure promises unforgettable vistas and a deep immersion into the natural beauty of Tanzania. Dinner, and overnight at the lodge/hotel.

Day 3: MARANGU TO LAKE CHALLA

Lake Challa, a hidden gem, a perfect place to relax and unwind from the busy city life. The remote caldera lake on the border of Tanzania & Kenya is only 55km from Moshi and therefore the perfect get away for a day. Pure tranquility and beautiful nature await you at the lake. Explore the area on one of the many possible hikes, swim in the crystal clear water, kayak across borders or simply enjoy the stunning vistas of an untouched Africa. In the morning your guide will pick you up from your accommodation.

You will ride the bicycle to Lake Challa Safari Camp with a packed lunch box and drinking water. Upon arrival you will see the beautiful private game reserve overlooking the Crater Lake. Our guide will take you down to the lake. Spend the day swimming, exploring, kayaking (optional).

You will experience the natural beauties of the green scenery, landscape and will also have the opportunity to meet local people doing their daily activity. There is a very high possibility of spotting the baboon monkey, velvet monkey, blue monkey, antelopes, elephants and many different birds, that live in this wonderful savannah land. Dinner, and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: LAKE CHALLA TO NALEMURU VILLAGE

We are heading further north anti-clockwise around the volcano. In the higher regions we see good farming practice of water and soil saving agriculture of the locals. We ride close to the Kenyan border climbing gently to higher altitude. The last 6 miles are on steep. In the afternoon we arrive at our cozy chalets. This is one of the starting points leading onto the mountain. Dinner, and overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: NALEMURU VILLAGE TO SIMBA FARM

We ride along the volcano through wide and deep river streams. We are in a very fertile area with countless small farms. Later we arrive in deeper plains, where the mountain slopes merge with the plain. Your cycling tour today ends at Simba Farm which is situated on top of the vast wheat and barley fields overlooking the west Kilimanjaro plains. Dinner, and overnight at Simba Farm Lodge. Accommodation on full board basis

Days 6: SIMBA FARM TO TINGATINGA VILLAGE

Our ride today takes us through the Enduimet Wildlife Management Area which is one of Tanzania’s best kept secrets. Enduimet borders Amboseli National Park and serves as an important migratory route for wildlife including the African elephants. This area is inhabited primarily by the Maasai people but there are large populations of other tribes such as the Chagga, Meru and Pare people. Your ride starts off on the wide open plains dotted with acacia trees but it gets greener as you approach the lower slopes of Kilimanjaro where a lot of cultivation takes place. While Moshi is home the Chagga people west Kilimanjaro plains are home to the nomadic Maasai people who co-exist with the surrounding wildlife and it is why this area is known as the Maasai Lands. Your ride today will be on both dirt and tarmac roads and you will finish the ride at the Tinga Tinga village where you will be spending the night and on this day will be our last day on bike. Dinner, and overnight at Osiligilai Maasai Lodge. Accommodation on full board basis

Days 7: OSILIGILAI TO ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK FOR BIKING, AND GAME DRIVES

You will enjoy a short game drive through the park en-route to the starting point of the Mbega cycling route. A ranger will accompany the ride since it is possible to encounter buffalo. Other animals likely to be seen are Colobus Monkeys, giraffes and various birds species. The ride is partly on a gravel track and partly on a small animals track that can allow for some muddy riding. There are steep up and steep down parts during this ride. Dinner, and overnight at the lodge

Day 8: ARUSHA TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK GAME DRIVES

After breakfast at your hotel, your driver-guide with his safari vehicle on the ground, will pick you up and embark to Tarangire national park for game drives and game viewings. Tarangire is Tanzania’s third largest national park and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are also an interesting feature of the park, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. Your game drives may reveal lions, giraffes, wildebeest, elephants, Zebras, wildebeests and much more. Lunchboxes shall be served to you by your driver guide at the picnic site inside the park with some rest before proceeding with game drives. Later after amazing hours of exploration, you will exit the park and drive the lodge for dinner, and overnight. Accommodation on full board basis

Day 9: MANYARA MOUNTAIN BIKING TO THE LAKE SHORE

Experience local cultures from your bike on a 3-hour mountain bike ride through the farming village of Mto Wa Mbu. You visit local farms, schools, church, milling machine, a local bar and enjoy the sights and sounds of this vibrant village. Cycle to the lake shore where there are stunning vistas of the lake, the Rift Valley Wall and small herds of wildlife. The ride is on fairly flat single tracks outside of the National Park. Later, after lunch, and some rest, you will visit one of the Maasai boma for authentic Maasai cultural tour. Dinner, and Overnight at the lodge. Accommodation on full board basis

Day 10: MANYARA TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK FOR GAME DRIVES

In the morning and after breakfast, leave your lodge for a drive to Serengeti national park via the “eighth wonder of the world”, popular Known as the Ngorongoro. Your driver guide shall be stopping in some if the beautiful views overlooking the crater for viewing and sightseeing. Lunch at the picnic point followed by a game drive en route to the lodge. Accommodation on full board basis

Day 11: FULL GAE DRIVES IN CENTRAL SERENGETI

We are completely flexible with your preferences and this day will be organized according to your wishes. Your guide will discuss with you the best timing for you, including the game drives and the wake up time. For example, you may opt to do a morning game drive, return to the camp for lunch and relaxation and finish with an afternoon game drive, or you could do a full day game drive with picnic lunches. The Serengeti Park derived its name from Maasai Language meaning endless plain. This massive plain (14763sq km) is home to many animals including Lions, Elephants, Giraffe, Wildebeest, Zebra, Leopard, and Cheetah, baboon, warthogs, Hyena plus lots of bird life. In many cases migration is taking place around Serengeti and at that particular time millions of wildebeest and zebra are mingling together followed by predators. Our professional guide will lead you into the right path making sure you have the best time to enjoy these great phenomena. Dinner and overnight the lodge. Accommodation on full board basis

Day 12: EN ROUTE GAME DRIVES SERENGETI TO NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA

Every day is a new day in Serengeti with different amazing series of events. After breakfast, you will leave the camp with your packed lunches for another memorable day towards the Ngorongoro conservation area. On this day still you will have a great opportunity to explore the Serengeti ecosystem with great possibility to spot any other animals that you did not see in your first days. Lunchboxes shall be served to you at the picnic point followed by a further game drive to famous Ngorongoro conservation area for dinner and overnight at the lodge. Accommodation on full board basis

Day 13: GAME DRIVES IN NGORONGORO CRATER TO ARUSHA

Early in morning and after breakfast, leave the lodge with your packed lunches ready for another exciting day. Today your expert safari guide will lead you into the Ngorongoro crater for a wonderful game drive. The Ngoro Ngoro crater is the 8th wonder of the Natural World, spreading over 102 sq. miles and has 2.000 ft high walls, making it virtually a Noah’s ark like, it is inhabited by almost every species of wildlife that is indigenous to East Africa including the rare and endangered black rhinos, other animals that can be revealed on your game drives are Elands, Lions, Waterbucks, Wildebeests, Hyenas, jackals, African Elephants, Buffaloes, Secretive leopards, Cheetahs, hippos and many more alongside hundreds of bird species eg. Maasai Ostrich, Kori bustard, Ibis, Starlings etc. Lunchboxes shall be served to you at the picnic point inside the crater. Later ascend the crater walls and drive back to Arusha for dinner, and overnight at the lodge.  Accommodation on half board basis

Day 14: DEPARTURE DAY

Today at leisure, depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
