Day 1: KITALE TO SAIWA SWAMP NATIONAL PARK
Today the morning after having your beautiful breakfast, you will be picked by our safari a guide from Kitale town, that will transfer you to Saiwa swamp national park, this small remote park is home to the rare sitatunga antelopes the most significant animal species, tourist usually look out for, upon arrival in the park, you will go for your game viewing adventure taking walks along the provided boardwalks in the park, look out for this endangered sitatunga antelopes, you will also be searching for the rare endemic de Brazza’s monkey, the colobus monkeys among other animals like bushbucks, mongoose, bush duiker, genet cats to mention but a few. You will return for your lunch box at the sitatunga campsite and later in the afternoon take another walk through the compact forests, the wetlands of riverine forest, acacia woodlands and sedges, with dense grass beds and rushes of this Saiwa Swamp National park. Enjoy watching numerous bird species, insects, and plant species such as the purple and bronze Eulophia horsfallii, also spot some reptiles and amphibians like The Bell’s tortoise easily seen and then return to set off driving back to Kitale for your drop off at your hotel.
