DAY 1: THE TOUR

1 Day Nairobi Safari WalkDetailed Itinerary.

Day 1: THE TOUR

After a relaxed breakfast at your hotel, you will be met by your guide at 8.00 am, at your hotel, who will brief you shortly of your day excursion and you drive off to Nairobi Safari Walk, which is roughly 10 km, away from Nairobi city. You will later have a guided boardwalk here as you explore this great amazing place, patched with beautiful creatures, and stunning view. It is very interesting because, in this place, they have cleverly rebuilt the different biotopes that exist in Kenya: savannahs, bushy savannahs, woods, marshes. In fact, this 2.5 km walking tour allows the discovery of all the landscapes that exist in Kenya, as well as flora, mammals living in their habitats, monitor lizards, and crocodiles! As you take a walk on the well-maintained track, you will see many big cats (e.g.: cheetahs, leopards, lions), many monkeys, and other mammals (especially endangered white and black rhinos). A local guide will be with you and will share with you, a lot of information about the animals that you will see on the day, during your nature walk around.

Depending on the time you have here, you will as well have a visit to the Animal Orphanage ground hosting a collection of orphaned, hurt and abandoned wild animals from all over the country, and you are likely to see: lions, hyena, leopard, cheetah, warthog, buffalo, different species of apes, guinea fowls, crested cranes among others, before you conclude your tour with a visit to Boma ground, to wind up your evening with a cultural insight of the Kenya culture, as you enjoy a wonderful treat here. The talented resident artists perform traditional dances and songs taken from the country’s various tribal groups, including Arab-influenced Swahili Taarab music, Kalenjin warrior dances, Embu drumming and Kikuyu circumcision ceremonies. It’s touristy, of course, but it’s still a spectacular afternoon out, as you get the country’s cultural taste. Later, drive back and be dropped at your hotel.
