Uganda
4 Days Flying Uganda Gorilla Trekking
- Duration
- 4 Days
- Price
- From $3,553 pp
Overview
Bwindi is a long way from Entebbe, roughly nine to ten hours by road each way. This trip flies it instead, which turns a week-long journey into four days without cutting anything from the trek itself.
You overnight at Entebbe, take the scheduled light aircraft to the airstrip nearest your sector the next morning, and trek the day after. The flight is under two hours and crosses the Rift Valley escarpment, so it is worth the window seat.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site holding roughly half the world’s mountain gorillas across four trekking sectors. You are briefed at dawn, then go in on foot with rangers and trackers. It is steep, muddy and thick, and finding the family takes one to seven hours round trip. Porters are available at every trailhead, they carry your pack, and hiring one puts money directly into the villages beside the park. Permits are limited and dated; we hold yours before you fly.
