About the Lodge
Ruzizi Tented Lodge is beautifully situated in the heart of Akagera National Park, Rwanda’s only Savannah national park. The park is characterized by its waterbodies and is named after the River Kagera that flows through it. The eco lodge is a great facility for travelers seeking a comfortable and relaxed stay within the African wilderness areas. It is a small, intimate facility straddling the forest shores of the Lake Ihema, with tents placed along both sides of the main lodge area connected through well-maintained pathways, the lodge is powered by solar energy and electricity, and was started in January 2012 opened in October 2012.
Location
The tented camp is located in Akagera National Park. From Kigali, it takes approximately 2 and a half hours to drive through the angelic tea plantations; the lodge can also be accessed by flight from the Kigali International airport.
Rooms
Ruzizi Tented Lodge features nine luxury tents, all of which are located along the shores of the lake on each side of the main lodge area. The standalone tents are built on stone, featuring a shaded private veranda, ensuite bathrooms. Solar powered ensuite bathrooms running both hot and cold water, complimentary toilets, and Camping chairs.
