About the lodge
Virunga Lodge is a luxurious 5-star facility along the foothills of Volcanoes National Park. It offers guests a comfortable and exclusive stay during their gorilla trekking experience. The property is owned and managed by Praveen Moman. It was built in 2004 and has since then offered incredible services to travelers. The art of the lodge is a Rwandan-style placed with unique and timeless artifacts handmade by the Lodge. It sits on an area raised about 2175meters overlooking the connecting Virunga mountains. Guests will have a chance of viewing the Rwandan twin Lakes of Burera and Lake Ruhondo, east of Musanze.
Location
Virunga Lodge is located approximately 40 minutes’ drive from the Volcanoes National Park. It can be accessed by helicopter from Kigali International Airport.
Rooms
Virunga Lodge boasts 12 Luxury Bandas made of stone walls and wooden floors. The interiors are furnished with classy furniture, each featuring a large balcony catching views of sunsets and mountains, private fireplaces, ensuite bathrooms running both hot and cold water, and double king-size beds with generous mosquito nets. The ten Bandas are categorized into standard Bandas and deluxe Bandas.
