About the Lodge
Stanley’s Kopje is an intimate luxury Lodge placed high on a rocky outcrop for clear views of the Mikumi wilderness, the national park was established in the 1964 and is the fourth largest conservation area of the country, it is one of the best places of the country to spot the big five of the African wilderness (Lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes and Rhinos) I boarders the Selous game reserve currently referred to as the Nyerere national park, a stay at the camp offers an opportunity to experience the best of the park including game drives, and guided nature walks.
Location
Stanley’s Kopje is in Mikumi National Park in the southern part of Tanzania; it can easily be accessed by air to the park’s nearest airstrip.
Rooms
Stanley’s Kopje boasts 12 spacious tents offering 360 views of the surrounding Mikumi wilderness, the tents are pitched on wooden platforms with traditionally thatched roofs providing shade as you sit on your lodge veranda, ensuite solar heated bathrooms running both hot and cold water, large beds dressed in comfortable linen, beautiful rugs, bedside lamps, flush toilet, tea and coffee making facilities.
