Day 1: ARRIVE IN KIGALI – RWANDA

Upon your arrival in Kigali international airport, you will meet your safaris driver guide, then you will be transferred to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. Rwanda’s capital and biggest city stretches across undulating lush hills surrounded by towering mountains, the largest of which is Mount Kigali, rising 1850 meters above sea level. Kigali is said to be one of the most attractive cities in Africa and is definitely worth a visit.

Day 2: KIGALI – NYUNGWE NATIONAL PARK

Early morning enjoy your buffer breakfast and checkout of the hotel, visit the Kigali genocide memorial ground and drive heading to the western province, on your way visit the Ethnographic and Royal Palace Museum in Southern Province, this will give you a great history of traditional ways of living among Rwandans and their past way of leadership of Kingship with an en route lunch.  You will reach in the afternoon at Nyungwe National Park and spend the afternoon at your leisure.

Day 3: CHIMPANZEE TRACKING & CANOPY WALK

Today, after your early morning cup of African coffee, you will leave your hotel to experience the natural forest of Nyungwe, well known for having 13 species of primates, and transferred to the park for briefing and chimpanzee trekking. You will be entitled to one hour on finding the chimpanzees. During the chimpanzee trekking you may as well cite other primate such as the famous Congo colobus monkeys. After doing the chimpanzee trek, head for lunch before heading for a canopy walk. This 70 meters suspended metallic bridge will give you a great overview of Nyungwe forest and on a lucky day spot one or two more primates in the forest as you take a walk on this bridge and later return in the afternoon for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: LOW LAND GORILLA TREK AND TRANSFER TO KIGALI

After a delightful breakfast in the morning, you will head for the low land gorilla trekking, at Kahuzi Biega National Park in Congo. An hour will be allocated upon finding the gorillas and later return, drive and cross to Rwanda, have lunch before you drive to Lake Kivu. On arrival at Lake Kivu/ Karongi Side, you shall be transferred to the booked hotel for relaxation.

Day 5: TRANSFER TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK WITH BOAT RIDE ON LAKE KIVU

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your accommodation, then embark on your journey to Volcanoes National Park. Located in northwest Rwanda, this park shares its borders with Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda. You will have a captivating boat excursion, allowing you to explore different islands on the lake. Continue your journey to Volcanoes National Park, promising a visually stunning experience as you pass through picturesque villages and lush, green countryside. Although the journey may be relatively long, it promises to be a visually striking experience. With a full day ahead of you, you’ll eventually arrive at your accommodation, where you can check in and relax. Later, enjoy a delicious dinner and prepare for your overnight stay.

Day 6: GOLDEN MONKEY TREK AND AFTERNOON CULTURAL VILLAGE VISIT

In the morning, after breakfast, head to the Volcanoes National Park office in Ruhengeri. Upon arrival at the park headquarters, you will receive a briefing on the rules to follow and not follow while enjoying park tea. Then, transfer to the starting point of your golden monkey trekking safari. Golden monkey trek in Volcanoes National Park can last more than 3 hours, and once you find them, spend an hour observing them play and feed their young. Return to the hotel for lunch, and after lunch visit Ibyiwacu Cultural village to learn the traditional unique culture for Rwandans.

Day 7: TRANSFER TO KIGALI AIRPORT

In the morning after the breakfast, you shall be transferred back to Kigali for your departure flight, depending on your departure flight time, you will have an additional Kigali city tour prior to your departure flight. We bid farewell to our wonderful guides, safari consultant, and his team then depart back home safely. End of the 7 Days Rwanda Safari with DRC lowland gorilla adventure.
